St. Monica's Alter Guild
The Alter Guild was first organized around 1930, under the name of St. Agnes Guild. The guild is a service organization responsible for the preparation of the alter for divine service to "extol the beauty and greatness of God and to awaken the response of His people in all forms of beauty." The working groups of the guild are organized into groups of 4,5 or 6 members that rotate weekly for alter work.
MaDaCa Guild
The Purpose of the MaDaCa guild is to support the church financially and promote congregational unity. The guild originated from the confirmation class of April, 1953. The name MaDaCa is a combination of the names of three priests who were active in the life of St. Andrew's Church.
Daughters of the King
The purpose of the Daughters of the King is prayer. We also send cards, make calls and visit the sick and shut in. We also assist in preparing for baptisms, confirmations and funerals. This guild also help out every year with the Shove Tuesday Pancake Supper.
Adult Forum
The Adult Forum mission is to provide opportunities for dialogue study, worship, spiritual growth, service, support of church functions and needs.
Usher's Guild
When you enter our church the first person you will meet is a "greeter". They are there to welcome visitors and returning parishioners to our worship service. The next person you meet will be an "usher", they also greet, hand out bulletins and will assist or guide you to a seat in the church.
Church School
The Church School Teachers provide an environment where the children can worship and learn. Guiding children in worship passes on to them a heritage of language and image and gesture by which they form their own approach to God. It is a gift they will be able to draw upon throughout the course of their lives. It is a gift which includes the clear message that they are absolutely integral to the community of faith.
OUTREACH MINISTRY
On the last 2nd 3rd and 4th fridays of each month, St. Andrews opens its doors for a Community Meal Ministry. The Mission of this ministry is to provide hot meals to thoses who are in need. These ready to serve nutritious meals are prepared and delivered by the Cleveland Community Kitchen. However, on occasions a committee must plan and prepare the entire meal for feeding our sisters and brothers in Christ. Since the inception of the program on May 31, 2002 St. Andrew's has served a on an average 395 persons a 570 meals are served per month.
Membership Committee
One of our previous goals was to create a "Welcome" Brochure which would be distributed throughout the community as part of our recruitment strategy. Brochures were distributed at John Carroll University, Cleveland State University, Cleveland Clinc Hospital, St. Vincent Charity Hospital and the UPCAM office of Case Western Reserve University. At St. Andrew's Church, brochures are placed in the vestibule of northex of the church and in the church pews for visitors and guest to take with them. The brochure is a componet of our recruitment strategy because it provides an overview of the ministries and outreach programs of our parish, the mission statement, the schedule of services, and a calendar of annual events.
Men's Group
The purpose of the Men's organization is to study the history of the church, help support the parish in reaching it's various goals, serve as a bias for the mentoring program, and provide a forum for the exchange and discussion of various church issues.
St. Andrew's choir
The Choir is comprised of volunteer persons who enjoy singing and the ministry of music. The primary purpose of the choir is to give praise to our Lord Jesus Christ in song.
Wellness Ministry
The purpose of this ministry is to empower the congregation with making health decisions that promote wellness. This is done by volunteers who have had training in the health care field.
Congregational Development Committee
the Vestry appointed the Congregational Development Committee is December of 2001, as a result of attendance at the Kanuga Conference on Transformation and renewal. The purpose was to identify and explore areas in which St. Andrew's Episcopal Church could grow as a parish and increase visibility in the surrounding community. Congregational Development brings together representation from all church groups to develop visions that incorporate strategic plans for the enhancement of he spiritual, fiscal, evangelical, and administrative growth of St. Andrew's Church.
